In.Dependance?

‘Come to us whenever you need help.’
She said in a soothing voice, a comforting smile.
In tears, desperate for help, she called;
A cold, automated voice said:
‘The office is closed. Sorry for any inconvenience caused...’

‘Let’s be really good friends.’
The text message declared. A statement sealing their friendship.
Trusting him, her heart in pieces, she asked him to call;
Tired, a little exasperated, he said:
‘Look, it is not like I’m dying to talk to you…’

‘I love you. I’ll never leave you.’
Ardent, passionate whispers which gave her hope.
Her heart shattering, searching wildly for a reason;
She heard his dead voice say:
‘It’s over. I don’t love you anymore…’

‘We’ll be best friends forever.’
They smiled at each other, a simple expression of affection.
Confused. Broken. Yearning for a comforting voice;
She remembered her say:
‘My mom took my phone away…’

No one to turn to, alone with her bleeding heart,
She couldn’t run away anymore.
She faced her demons, one by one,
As the raging storm in her calmed
She heard a soft whisper, a tugging at her heart:
‘I will always be by your side. I love you.’
